The game ended at the 60-minute mark per a Virginia High School League rule that ends a game if one team leads by eight or more goals halfway through the second half.
To add insult to injury, Bruton (1-5) starting goalkeeper Shayla Hillian twisted her knee in the first half and was forced to leave the game. Panthers Coach Will Spear said Hillian’s status is unknown.
