A seven-run top of the fifth inning helped Tabb’s baseball team deliver a stinging 11-5 loss to York on the road Wednesday.

Trailing 3-2 heading into the fifth inning, the Tigers set up a favorable offensive situation by working the pitch count, earning walks and taking advantage of York fielding errors.

A Hunter Watson line drive scored Nick Hunter, tying the game at 3-3. Two at-bats later, Dylan Camper smacked a ball into center field that was botched by the outfielder.

The fielding error allowed two runs to score, putting the Tigers up 5-3. Back-to-back singles brought in two more runs, extending Tabb’s lead to 7-3.

A wild pitch allowed Robert Tulloss to score from third base before Hunter hit a double to left field that drove in Tabb’s final run of the inning.

The big-time inning put the game out of reach for York, who ended the game with four errors.

Tabb will continue its season 4 p.m. Friday at home against Jamestown, while York will travel to take on Smithfield 4:30 p.m. Friday.
