A seven-run fourth inning was not enough to help Jamestown (4-2) take down Nansemond River on the road Saturday, dropping the contest 8-7.
Jamestown pitcher Kent Klyman struggled in the bottom of the second inning, walking three of the first four batters he faced.
With runners on the bases, Nansemond River repeatedly put balls in play, jumping out to a 5-0 lead by the end of the inning.

With Roger Romero on third base in the top of the fourth inning, Evan Lowery hit a sacrifice fly that brought Romero across home plate.
Two at-bats later, Klyman singled to left field and brought in two runs, cutting the Nansemond River lead to 6-3.
Cameron Mays and Kevin Mooney each hit a single, the latter driving home Sean Hughes.
A Cole Jones sacrifice grounder brought home Chris Jones before Romero stepped to the plate for his second appearance of the inning. Romero hit a two-run single to center field that gave Jamestown a 7-6 lead.
Despite the offensive outburst, Jamestown’s lead was short-lived.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, a Nansemond River single tied the game up at 7-7 before a fielding error allowed a run to score from third base, putting the Warriors back on top 8-7.
The Eagles were unable to muster a rally in the top of the seventh inning as Garrick Colorado lined out to third base, stranding Lowery on first.
Jamestown will look to rebound against Warhill at home at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
