The Grafton girls tennis team edged out Lafayette 5-4 on the road Thursday, handing the Rams their first loss of the season.

After splitting the singles matches, Grafton’s No. 3 doubles team managed to close out the match with an 8-6 victory.

The Clippers move to 3-2 on the season with the win, while Lafayette drops to 4-1.

Both teams will resume their seasons at 4 p.m. April 15. Grafton will visit New Kent and Lafayette will host Tabb.

The York girls tennis team blanked Warhill at home Thursday.

The Falcons move to 3-0 on the season with the win. Warhill drops to 1-4 with the loss.

York will host Poquoson at 4 p.m. April 15, while Warhill will take on Bruton at home on the same day at 4 p.m.

The Jamestown girls tennis team handed New Kent a 9-0 defeat on the road Thursday.

The win moves Jamestown to 2-0 on the season with an upcoming road match against Clover Hill at 4 p.m. April 14.

York Handles Warhill

The York boys tennis team handled Warhill during a 9-0 victory on the road Thursday.
