Girls Soccer Roundup: HRA Shuts Out Nansemond-Suffolk Academy

NavigatorsSetta Brown scored two goals and added an assist during Hampton Roads Academy’s 6-0 shutout win against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on Thursday.

Catie Slater, Kendall Schroder and Melina Gharbo each scored a goal and recorded an assist for Hampton Roads Academy (4-1).

The Navigators will continue their season at 4:30 p.m. Monday on the road against Suffolk Christian Academy.

McCurdy Scores in Bruton Loss

Bruton’s Tori McCurdy scored a second-half goal during the Panthers’ 4-1 loss at home to Northampton on Thursday.

Trailing 2-0 at halftime, McCurdy got Bruton (1-4) on the board, hammering home a corner kick from Kamree Barker.

Hailegh Collins, Bruton’s goalkeeper, recorded five saves in the loss.

After spring break next week, the Panthers will travel to take on Poquoson at 7 p.m. April 14.
