A Newport News woman is facing a felony grand larceny charge after police say she stole about $1,000 in cash out of another woman’s purse.

James City County Police arrested 37-year-old Buffalo Wild Wings employee Belinda Quinonez Stuart on March 26 after watching video surveillance of the New Town restaurant, where the accuser said she left her purse March 15.

The video surveillance showed Stuart, who was working at the restaurant at the time, removing an envelope that contained about $1,000 in cash from the woman’s purse before returning the purse to her, a police report said.

Stuart was arrested and charged with felony grand larceny March 26.

She will appear in Williamsburg-James City County General District Court at 8:30 a.m. April 7.
