Thomas Pogue scored two goals in the first half to lead Lafayette to a 2-1 home win against Tabb on Thursday.
Less than a minute into the game, Pogue intercepted an off-target pass from a Tabb (1-2) defender and beat the keeper one-on-one for the game’s opening goal.
Pogue struck again in the 20-minute mark as he received a through ball from Jason Eckenrode and beat Tabb goalkeeper Grant Kelchner to the lower corner of the goal to put the Rams up 2-0.
After trailing 2-0 at the half, Tabb’s Andrew Lenfant ripped a shot from 30 yards out and placed it past Lafayette keeper David Domalski.
The goal cut Lafayette’s lead in half, but the Tigers were unable to find the back of the net to tie the game.
The Rams (4-1) will resume their season after spring break, traveling to play Grafton at 7 p.m. April 14. Tabb will host Smithfield at 7 p.m. April 13.
