A 27-year-old Gloucester County man was arrested by York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office deputies Wednesday and charged in connection to four robberies and an attempted robbery, all at county businesses.
Chad Dallas Jackson faces numerous charges in connection to the alleged robberies, which took place at the Hong Kong Restaurant in the Heritage Square Shopping Center, the AutoZone on Merrimac Trail and the Main Moon restaurant and an Advance Auto Parts, both in the Farm Fresh Shopping Center on George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17).
Jackson is also believed to have attempted to rob the Advance Auto Parts on Merrimac Trail on the day of his arrest, according to a post on the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
On Wednesday, deputies were surveilling businesses throughout York County that could potentially be targeted by the robber. At about 8:55 p.m., they watched Jackson approach the Advance Auto Parts on Merrimac Trail. He put on a hooded jacket and pulled the hood over his head, according to the post.
He then tried to open the door, but the store’s employees had already locked the door for the night. He walked behind the business and then back out front, where he took off the jacket, according to the post.
Deputies and investigators confronted him in front of the store. They found a mask and a BB pistol concealed in his waistband. Both items were similar to those described to investigators by the people who reported robberies at the other businesses, according to the post.
Jackson, who matches the physical description provided to investigators by the people who reported robberies at the other businesses, had left his vehicle on Second Street in Williamsburg at another business, according to the post.
He was taken into custody and charged with four counts of robbery, four counts of grand larceny, four counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, five counts of abduction, four counts of wearing a mask in public to conceal identity and one count of attempted robbery.
Nobody was hurt in any of the alleged robberies.
