Former Grafton High volleyball standout Morgan Kline received a pair of honors this week for her efforts in leading the University of North Carolina Wilmington to a 4-0 showing at the Hilton Garden Inn Mayfaire Volleyball Classic over the weekend.
Kline, who was voted MVP of the tournament after posting averages of 3.61 kills and 3.00 digs per set in addition to committing just nine errors in 101 attack attempts, was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the Colonial Athletic Association and Student-Athlete of the Week by UNCW’s athletic staff.
In helping the Seahawks to a 8-2 record so far this season, the junior outside hitter ranks second on the team in both kills (100) and digs (91).
At Grafton, Kline led the Clippers to three Bay Rivers District and Region I titles, as well as two appearances in the Group AA state championship game. She was a three-time all-district and all-region performer and was twice named to the all-state team, most notably in 2010 when she was named the state Player of the Year.
