Prepare for Hurricanes, Save on Taxes
Williamsburg officials are urging residents to take advantage of Virginia’s Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, which started Saturday and ends Friday.
Those who purchase products such as flashlights, smoke detectors and first-aid kits during that week will not have to pay the 5 percent sales tax for the items. The sales tax is waived for items $60 or less.
