The Starbucks formerly located at 4655 Monticello Ave. moved down the street and  reopened Friday.

Now located at 5227 Monticello Ave. in the Courthouse Commons shopping center, the new Starbucks is near Fresh Market, Sticks and The Imperial Olive. Unlike its old location, the new Starbucks building has a drive-thru, which makes it the second location in Williamsburg to have a drive-thru, according to a Starbucks spokesperson.

The new store has a “Clover® brewing system offering ultra-premium brewed coffee made fresh by the cup,” the Starbucks spokesperson said.

A district manager at the store declined comment.

I am happy to see the new Starbucks. I hope they have new employees or have retrained the ones from the walk in store, because I avoided the walk in and went to Rochambeau due to incredibly slow service and unfriendly personnel at the former location. I was pleasantly surprised at the new Starbucks this morning with a friendly smiling face and quick out-the-door with my coffee.

I don’t like the parking lots and driveways at Courthouse Commons shopping strip. Too tight, confusing, and poorly designed. I’ll continue to shop elsewhere.

I wonder if the move will make the employees more friendly and customer service oriented. I have on more than one occasion driven past this location and gone up to the store on Rochambeau because the staff there is so much nicer!
